A Letter to the Grief Stricken
We are grieving children, partners, family members, and loved ones. Some of us are survivors of shootings ourselves. We are searching for justice, navigating court systems, paying funeral expenses, raising children and grandchildren through loss; advocating in our communities, marching in the streets, and even creating organizations so that other families do not have to experience what we have endured.
But in the middle of all this work, who is taking care of us?
Too many mothers and women affected by gun violence are suffering in silence without consistent access to grief counseling, therapy, restorative care, or simply a safe place to rest.
